Exclusions: Commercial grade water heaters, tanks larger than 100 gallons, tankless systems, hanging units, combination ambient heat/domestic hot water heating units, exhaust venting, jacket and interior doors, supply and delivery water piping, electrical service wiring, damage from restricted lines or as a result of water pressure in excess of 80 P.S.I., accidents and damage or negligence caused by you or others. Additional exclusions apply.
Eligibility: A residential homeowner with sole responsibility for the electric, natural gas or propane water heater may be eligible for coverage. Residences not affixed to a permanent foundation, recreational vehicles and properties used for commercial purposes are not eligible for coverage. If you live in a development community with a condominium, co-op or homeowners association, your water heater may not be an individual homeowner's responsibility, so please check with your association before accepting this coverage. If you own a residential property that has multiple water heaters, you must purchase a service agreement for each individual water heater for any one water heater to be eligible. Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the benefit amount, for the covered cost to repair or replace an electric, natural gas or propane water heater that is damaged due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence. If your water heater is deemed beyond repair, you can apply the balance of your benefit amount to a like-for-like replacement. Making a Service Call: Your plan starts the day your order is processed, and there is an initial 30-day waiting period before you can make a repair service call, giving you 11 months of coverage during the first year. There is a 90-day waiting period before you can make a replacement service call. This prevents service calls on pre-existing conditions and helps keep the coverage affordable. Cancellation: You may cancel within 30 days of your start date for a full refund; cancellations after the first 30 days will result in a pro-rata refund less any claims paid (where applicable). Most basic homeowners insurance policies do not cover repair or replacement of this system. If you find you have similar coverage, you can contact HomeServe to cancel and you will receive a refund of your service agreement fee, less any claims paid (where applicable). Renewal: Your coverage is based on an annual contract and is billed on a bi-monthly basis. Your service agreement will be automatically renewed annually at the then-current renewal price. Your coverage will remain in effect unless you call to discontinue.

We want to educate homeowners about their responsibilities and provide options (such as HomeServe) for protecting themselves if an emergency home repair is needed. These types of repairs can be costly; however, many homeowners are unaware of what they're responsible for on their property. It's important to know your responsibilities and options. Through due diligence, Louisville Water Company has determined that HomeServe's emergency home repair coverage is something that you may want to consider. Homeowners must decide for themselves if HomeServe is right for them. This coverage is completely optional.
If I'm a Louisville Water Company customer, will HomeServe charges show up on my bill?
Yes. Customers who sign up for these services from HomeServe will be billed directly on their Louisville Water Company bill.
Does my homeowners insurance or local utility cover repairs to the systems around my home?
Many homeowners believe their utility companies or homeowners insurance is responsible for emergency repairs to the water, sewer, plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling systems, but the reality is that in many cases you, the homeowner, is responsible. Most basic homeowners insurance policies and local utility companies or municipalities do not cover repairs to or replacement of the major systems in and around your home.

I need a repair. What should I do?
Step 1: If you should suffer a home repair emergency after your start date that is covered by your plan, call HomeServe toll-free at 1-877-444-2480 and one of our customer service specialists will get you started on your service call.
Step 2: A local, licensed and insured technician will be dispatched to your home to make the covered repair or replacement.
Step 3: Once covered repairs are completed, you just sign a form to say you are satisfied and we pay the technician directly up to the annual benefit amount.
Who will come to my home to make the repair?
Homeowners who call with a covered emergency can rest assured that a local, licensed and insured technician will respond to the call and carry out the repair in a professional manner.
How do I cancel my plan?
You may cancel within 30 days of your start date for a full refund less any claims paid, where applicable, by calling HomeServe at 1-877-444-2480. Cancellations after the first 30 days will result in a pro-rata refund less any claims paid, where applicable.
