About Louisville Water Company and HomeServe

Louisville Water Company has partnered with HomeServe to provide Water Service Line Coverage, Interior Plumbing & Drainage Coverage, Sewer/Septic Line Coverage and Water Heater Repair/Replacement Plan to protect them from the hassle and expense of emergency home repairs.

Participation in this service plan will not affect the price, availability or terms of service from Louisville Water Company. HomeServe is an approved service warranty company in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and not a contractor. It hires independent, local, licensed plumbers to complete all repairs.

We want to educate homeowners about their responsibilities and provide options (such as HomeServe) for protecting themselves if an emergency home repair is needed. These types of repairs can be costly; however, many homeowners are unaware of what they're responsible for on their property. It's important to know your responsibilities and options. Through due diligence, Louisville Water Company has determined that HomeServe's emergency home repair coverage is something that you may want to consider. Homeowners must decide for themselves if HomeServe is right for them. This coverage is completely optional.

If I'm a Louisville Water Company customer, will HomeServe charges show up on my bill?

Yes. Customers who sign up for these services from HomeServe will be billed directly on their Louisville Water Company bill.

Does my homeowners insurance or local utility cover repairs to the systems around my home?

Many homeowners believe their utility companies or homeowners insurance is responsible for emergency repairs to the water, sewer, plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling systems, but the reality is that in many cases you, the homeowner, is responsible. Most basic homeowners insurance policies and local utility companies or municipalities do not cover repairs to or replacement of the major systems in and around your home. 

After I purchase a plan, when does my coverage begin?

Your plan starts the day your order is processed, and there is an initial 30-day waiting period before you can make a service call, giving you 11 months of coverage during the first year. This prevents service calls on pre-existing conditions and helps keep the coverage affordable.

I need a repair. What should I do?

Step 1: If you should suffer a home repair emergency after your start date that is covered by your plan, call HomeServe toll-free at 1-877-444-2480 and one of our customer service specialists will get you started on your service call.

Step 2: A local, licensed and insured technician will be dispatched to your home to make the covered repair or replacement.

Step 3: Once covered repairs are completed, you just sign a form to say you are satisfied and we pay the technician directly up to the annual benefit amount.

Who will come to my home to make the repair?

Homeowners who call with a covered emergency can rest assured that a local, licensed and insured technician will respond to the call and carry out the repair in a professional manner.

How do I cancel my plan?

You may cancel within 30 days of your start date for a full refund less any claims paid, where applicable, by calling HomeServe at 1-877-444-2480. Cancellations after the first 30 days will result in a pro-rata refund less any claims paid, where applicable.
