Public and Private Sectors Working Together to Address Infrastructure Challenges

Everyone from the White House and Congress to leaders at the state and local levels are talking about how best to bring America’s infrastructure into the 21st Century. The challenge and associated investment need is enormous – in fact, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) recently released a report card that gives America’s infrastructure a D+ grade.

While the debate continues about the best course of action to address infrastructure needs, one solution – public-private partnerships (P3s) – has widespread, bipartisan support.  Organizations like the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the National League of Cities tout the benefits of municipalities tapping into private sector expertise and funding.

We bring the best of the private sector, including efficiency and expertise, to relieve the burden on homeowners facing expensive repairs. At the same time, HomeServe supports communities by helping local decision-makers tackle the enormous, but rarely discussed, problem of updating the portion of the community’s aging water and sewer infrastructure that isn’t publicly maintained – the residential service lines that provide water and sewage service to individual homes.
