Eligibility: An owner of a residential single structure, or a unit within a structure, that is not intended to be moved may be eligible for coverage. Your property is not eligible if you are aware of any pre-existing conditions, defects or deficiencies with your heat/pump cooling system prior to enrollment, or if you have a heat pump/cooling system that uses refrigerant other than R-22 or similar, R-410a or has non-compliant components, or is a capacity exceeding five tons; ammonia cooling, window, through the wall, hanging, geothermal heat pump or combination ambient heat/domestic hot water heating unit, If your entire heat pump/cooling system is shared with any third party or covered by a homeowners', condominium or like association, or is not installed according to manufacturer specifications, then you are not eligible. Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the benefit amount, for the covered cost to repair or replace the following electric central air conditioning system parts, for which you have sole responsibility, that are damaged due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence: capacitors; circuit boards and internal fuses or breakers; condensate pumps; condenser motor and fan; contactor switches; delay timer; fan controls and relays; filter dryer; high and low pressure switches; limit controls; up to one pound of refrigerant (excluding maintenance recharges which are not covered); relays; transformers and valves. In addition, we will perform one annual 18 point tune-up of your heat pump/cooling system, including: check thermostat operation; clean filter or replace (customer supplied); check system temperature split; inspect disconnect; inspect fuses; inspect wiring; tighten electrical connections; inspect contactors, relays and pressure controls; inspect electrical safety circuits; check voltage and amperage to all motors; inspect indoor blower and motor for dirt buildup; inspect bearings and lubricate all moving parts (if needed); inspect condensate drain; inspect outdoor coil; inspect duct seal at unit and secure panels; run and test system; interior coil cleaning; exterior coil cleaning. Not covered: Air ducts, A/C coils, registers, grills, asbestos coverings, balancing of system, wiring and parts external to the unit, compressors or chillers, condenser casings, condenser coils, evaporator coils, metering systems/TXV valves, thermostats or thermostat wiring; and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others or unusual circumstances. There is an initial 30-day waiting period before you can make a service call, providing 11 months of coverage during the first year. (HSRMF) will offer the purchasers of Cooling System Coverage (sold in connection with HSRMF’s relationship with FPL Energy Services) an instant rebate for these home warranty products provided by ServicePlan of Florida, Inc. There are two different cooling system coverage plan options to FPL Energy Services customers:

1) A cooling system plan which covers heat pumps; and

2) A cooling system plan which covers heat pumps and provides an annual tune up.

For the cooling system plan which covers heat pumps, HSRMF will be rebating a portion of its sales commission in the amount of $14.99 per month for one year, or 50% of the cost of the plan. For the cooling system plan which covers heat pumps and provides an annual tune up, HSRMF will be rebating a portion of its sales commission in the amount of $18.99 per month for one year, or 50% of the cost of the plan.

Customers will realize these rebates in the form of a reduced price in the first year for their cooling system coverage plan.
