Acquisition of residential HVAC and plumbing contractor operations creates operational efficiencies, enhances HomeServe customer experience
Norwalk, CT – September 6, 2017 – HomeServe USA (HomeServe) a leading provider of home emergency repair service plans, today announced the successful acquisition of South Jersey Energy Service Plus, LLC’s (SJESP) residential HVAC and plumbing contractor operations.SJESP, an indirect subsidiary of South Jersey Industries, Inc. currently serves as one of southern New Jersey’s leading HVAC and plumbing solution providers. This transaction will enable greater operational efficiencies in the region for HomeServe, while creating a more streamlined customer experience for the nearly 62,000 South Jersey households currently served by SJESP under HomeServe warranty and service contracts.
HomeServe entered into an agreement to acquire the residential HVAC and plumbing contractor operations from SJESP in May 2017. HomeServe previously acquired the HVAC and Interior Gas Line service plan business from SJESP in 2011, in an agreement whereby SJESP maintained responsibility for performing the service work for plan holders. With the successful completion of this latest transaction, HomeServe brings the field service operations of SJESP in-house, allowing HomeServe to now directly serve customers and manage the service process from end-to-end.

The technicians and high-quality services SJESP customers have come to expect will remain unchanged, with HomeServe now managing and enhancing the overall process for customers.
